Night School - 1981 ***

Rather cheesy eighties slasher about a maniac who targets girls at night school in a series of terrifying ways. The cop assigned to it isn't really too pleased to see heads of women in strange locations, and is even more disgusted when he finds a head in the basin in the local café.
Delving deeper he finds out that the professor at the College is a bit of a ladies man, with affairs and pregnancies abundant and begins to get a funny feeling about him.
Not to be taken too seriously, this is an 80s horror to watch.

(HORROR) Funhouse - 1981 *

Absolutely awful film. One I had waited so long to see and then when I got to see it I realised how bad and tasteless it was. Not so much scary as thoroughly stupid and incredibly boring. A waste of time. When you think of how genuinely scary other films such as 'Halloween' were in the next few years it's such a let down. Offended on Tobe Hooper's behalf.

(HORROR) Halloween 2 - 1981 ****

I always liked the Halloween franchise. It's a simple story, yet totally terrifying and surprisingly original considering how many slasher movies are churned out year after year. Simple yet effective. The second offering is just as good as the first, despite following almost the same pattern. Scary and eerie, just how a horror film should be.

(HORROR) Happy Birthday to Me - 1981 ***

I proudly thought that I had probably seen the main bulk of 80s slasher films but then realized I hadn't seen this one, and having been very disappointed by 'April Fools Day' I was putting it off for some time. This wasn't a bad horror, quite inventive, with some weird death scenes (which are always the most important thing for a horror fan) and cheesy moments. However, overall it wasn't one of the better horror movies I've seen.
