No mask can hide the truth.
I was curious to see this film after the raving reviews I had read stating t as one of the scariest movies of all time. I certainly found it scary, but not because of blood or gore, simply because of the principal of the story, and the total disregard for human life that the surgeon seems to display. That and the haunting carnivale-esque music that accompanies the most unnerving moments really makes this film a chilling experience. What I admired so much was that if it had been released in American it wouldn't have been neary as scary or beautifully shot as this French production.
