Drillbit Taylor- 2008

You get what you pay for

Well if you are looking forward to seeing Owen Wilson giving you some belly laughs in this film then don't waste your time watching it. If however you want to see three young boys make you chuckle and Owen Wilson hovering around in the background then this is the film for you. Wilson could never be constued as being a talented actor, he at most can raise a slight smile from me, but will never have me rolling around on the floor. He is more of an actor who supports funny men like Ben Stiller or Adam Sandler, but cannot hold a script or movie well on his own.
3 young boys are being tormented and teased by an older boy at school and become so desperate for help that they apply online for a personal bodyguard - enter Drillbit Taylor, an ex-army tramp who makes his living from stealing people's belongings and scrounging leftover food. Don't ask me how but he turns up for the interview believing that the amount of money he will make will be enough to get him to Canada where he can start a new life and the boys give him the job, promising him the money (which they don't actually have). The three boys shine on screen but Wilson is lacking in something, I think its known as comedy.

Rating 2.5/5
