Lost - 1956

No baby is safe

Lost is a peculiar film. I liked it but disliked it at the same time. I found the acting awful and the with the exception of David Farrar as the Detective on the case. I liked the idea of the movie, as at the time it was made, the abduction of a child was much rarer than now. Parents could happily leave their children outside a shop while they went inside without having to worry if they would still be there when they returned. The way society has changed is pitiful when comparing a film like this to a modern movie. Filmed years before the Moor's Murders took place this film is a sad nod to how things used to be - when a whole team of policemen would go on a search for a missing child for weeks and weeks, a world that we will never get back. Acting was abismal though!
