Let the show go on!!

All in all this is a lavish, fun movie. Donald O'Connor is a favourite of mine because of his performance in 'Singin in the Rain.' Ethel Merman gets a bit over the top after a while but of course as always the show was stolen by Marilyn Monroe. Sadly it was known at the time that she wasn't keen to do the movie but no one can argue that she stole the whole film even though she wasn't a lead part. I think she was added to boost the movie and she certainly did that, but not by making the other actors look better, but by simply being Marilyn. I love musicals but this was just a bit much to take in for me.
