The Host - 2006

It wants to feed...

Forgive me, but 'The Host' lacks something. It is neither scary nor dramatic and seems instead to be a poor excuse for a farcical experience. I buy into the whole 'scary creature coming up from the dark water' thing because that's one of the reasons I wanted to see the film, hoping for a loch ness monster style creature, and the blurb on the back of the DVD case made it seem even scarier than that, however the only moments where I had a little jump were near the beginning of the film and the rest of the time was a long haul, with screaming and running and children covered in gunk, towards the end I was starting to feel sorry for the monster! A miss from around the globe.
